Applicants will hear back from WNU about the status of their application (pre-selection or rejection) roughly three weeks after the application deadline closes.

The WNU pre-selected applications then get sent to the IAEA for internal review. After the second review, the applicants who have been pre-selected by both the WNU and IAEA will be invited to apply for funding through the InTouch+ platform and contact their National Liaison Officer to secure the nomination.

Applicants who have been pre-selection may move on to the following steps:

Applying through the InTouch+ Portal

  1. Go to the IAEA's InTouch+ portal and sign in using your IAEA Nucleus username and password. If you don't have an IAEA Nucleus account, you must create a new profile.

  2. Use the project and event numbers to complete the application form and submit it directly to your National Liaison Officer (NLO).

For more information on submitting your application, endorsement and approval, etc., visit the InTouch+ Help Page or contact InTouchPlus.Contact-Point@iaea.org.

From there:

The NLO will review and indicate whether the national government endorses the candidate's application to the IAEA. After receiving all of the endorsed applications from the NLOs, the IAEA will make a final selection. Successful recipients of the funding will be notified of the final status of their applications after the IAEA makes a final decision, and welcomed to the programme.
